After producing a successful lip sync video i have learnt various editing, and shooting skills which will come in useful when we proceed to create our music video. The lip sync exercise has allowed me to improve both editing skills and acting in front of a camera. The exercise allowed me and my group to film our very own sequence consisting of long shots, mid shots and close ups.During the filming process, we had to film a long shot through a window 3 floors up from the media department down to street level. This made some of the footage less clear the others and ultimately effected how professional the video looked. When we are filming our music video we will have to think of other alternatives so that the footage is as good as possible.
Using Final Cut Express to edit our footage proved a challenge not just to me but to my group members too as software was new to all three of us. With the help of a user guide we were able to begin editing a footage to choose the best clips to use within out video. After we had successfully chosen our clips and synchronised them into with our song. We began to add some effects to make the video flow frequently and look more professional. Some of the effects used include fade in/out and cross dissolve.
I hope to have learned the skills necessary to create a professional music video.
